omg so much work to do!
argh! CDP deadline is so soon and i've so much work to do i still have to do my design development because i changed my theme because i wasn't too inspired by old packaging, so i changed it to the nets used to make the packaging and did a load more research and ideas sheets, so now i'm behind and i've still to do most of the start of the project which i've completely neglected, oh and after all that i'll have to do my final line-up all in 2 weeks... fantastic!
january : back to work
we've started back and started the second part of the project: container culture. i've started researching old-fashioned packaging but its a bit dull, i mean there's really not that many variation in shape of a box..... zzzzzzzzzzzz. I've got my tutorial soon so i i'll go to that and see if i can change my inspiration a bit.
we also got briefed on "fashion, art and culture" i missed the brief though because i feel like ass and decided bed and lemsip were the best idea. i've read the brief though and looked at the slides for the lecture i missed and it sounds quite interesting.
christmas!

well the christmas "break" is drawing to an end and oh dear i've done half a trend board :S never mind, it is christmas and i have been working full time so i reckon thats a valid reason for no work. i've decided not to worry about it, what with the more pressing issues such as not fitting into my new years dress that fitted a mere 3 weeks ago oh good god i've eaten an appalling amount of food and lets not even mention the drink.

creative design practices/ gfw / creative design realization
we got briefed on a new little project which sounds quite fun we have to make an accessory for river island to be entered into graduate fashion week and the winner gets a load of river island vouchers, which if i won would be especially good for me as i work there and those vouchers combined with my discount would go along way... (well a bit further than they would normally, lets face it £100 wont get you wardrobe worth.) also i think its a tad stingy if they start manufacturing your accessory and making loads of money of it, you'd think they'd give you real money and not just vouchers! anyway (rant over) we have to make it from a charity shop find and i found a miniature chess board and pieces and think i'm gunna make some kind of necklace out of them. i started making some chains and attaching the chess peices in the work shop and wanted throw it out the window it was taking so long! good job i've got all of christmas to try and do it!
my creative design realisation stuff is going quite well though :D i've just about finished the dress, just need to hem the bottom by hand so it looks all neat and then i've got to sort out my technical file which shouldnt be too bad i've done most of it, it just needs organizing and neatening up a little. i'm really looking forward to going home for christmas now though and cant wait to hand this stuff in. i really feel christmassy in student halls, a christmas tree doesn't look quite right in our grimy kitchen ha.
the new project doesn't sound overly excting, at least the first bit doesn't anyway. we've got until after christmas to do 4 trendboards and a shop report on different market levels. its not a lot of work but its just seems dead dull. and i cant see myself being overly motivated to do the work over christmas. oh well see how it goes.
fri 21st
i had my first "creative design realisation" lesson today, our tutor is andrew and i cant really see me enjoying this one! i've never made a pattern from a block before and so it would have been hard enough with someone helpful telling me what to do, so i really struggled with andrew who i think thought we all new what we were doing and told us to get on with it. it took ages for him to get round everyone to see how they were doing, and the whole process just seems really slow. i managed to get my pattern drawn out today anyway and will just have to cut it out at the start of next week. i'm glad i've got this far even it was with a load of stress!
we had to do this odd thing on wednesday after our hand in, involving trapsing round leeds when were all knackered and finding out allsorts of random stuff about the museum, the market, the library, taking photos of musicians ? :S ? which i didnt find especially helpful as i know my way round leeds, was tired and spent the whole time thinking "shouldn't we have done this in freshers week?" oh well i went to bed shortly after zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
